Acne Rosacea
Acne is skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin. It often causes white heads, blackheads or pimples usually appear on face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders. People of all ages can get acne, but it’s most common in teenagers. Genetics plays a role in acne. Stress doesn’t cause acne, but if you have acne already, it may make it worse.
Acne occurs when sebaceous (oil) glands attached to the hair follicles are stimulated at the time of puberty or due to other hormonal changes. The enlarged gland produces more sebum. Excessive sebum can break down cellular walls in the pores, causing bacteria to grow. Rising androgen levels cause the oil glands under the skin to grow.
Acne can occur in various forms :
● Blackheads are small bumps that appear on your skin due to clogged hair follicles. These bumps are called blackheads because the surface looks dark or black. Blackheads are a mild type of acne that usually form on the face around nose
● Whiteheads is a type of acne that forms when dead skin cells, oil, and bacteria become trapped within one of your pores
● Papules are lesions that are small in size and tend to be pink in color.
● Pustules
● Nodules
● Cyst
● Rosacea This condition is characterized by pimples but not comedones and occurs in the middle third of the face, along with redness, flushing, and superficial blood vessels. It generally affects people in their 30s and 40s and older.
● Folliculitis Pimples can occur on other parts of the body, such as the abdomen, buttocks, or legs. These represent not acne but inflamed follicles.
